Programme Notes
I composed Lust to be the second song on my concept album, Love in 6 Stages. Each song on this album is 10 minutes in length. And while it has a pop sensibility, my inspiration probably came from classical and ambient traditions.
As the name suggests, Lust is a play-by-play of our protagonist’s experience of love-making. I wanted the piano, words and general tone to evoke the numbing sensation and exhilaration. But I didn’t wanted it to be done in a graphic way.

Lyrics
Carnal pleasures abound
We are consumed by each other
Kitchen, car, park, no matter
Ravenous touch, I’m unwound, ya!
Earthly time advances for all but us
Still relentless with intensity, …sity, …sity, …sity, …sity
The urges make our world boundless
Will this become our propensity?
Feeling each other’s bodies
Tracing every inch of you
Who cares about parties
Our encounters are a blissful zoo
Silence abound when you’re inside
Floating on this cloud due north
Constantly swaying from side to side
Yes, it is good, oh the warmth
The warmth, the warmth, the warmth, the warmth, the warmth
You become more intense
Brute force with passion all together
Is our journey about to start?
I yearn for this forever
For service of Venus
The rush, scratching,
The yells,
The yells, the yells, the yells, the yells, the yells
As you keep kissing the swan of love
I’m the only one who hears, who hears, who hears,
The stars
Aah, aah, aah, aah, aah
We lie there lacking sensation
Numb bodies, lifeless, flushed
Not a first look, nor an infatuation
Just what has become of us two
Lustful pleasures abound
We are consumed by each other
Kitchen, car, park, no matter
Ravenous touch, I’m unwound
