When I first started meditating, I was always under the misperception that I needed to meditate in order to make myself feel better and happier. But instead I quickly realized meditation is most effective when there’s no expectations attached to the practice. To allow one’s being to be empty of thoughts allows the mind and body to heal. This is a concept that far supersedes the state of happiness or sadness. Instead, it’s just about being.
