There’s an ancient proverb that states “the worm will turn when trodden upon”, meaning the weakest among us will fight back when provoked. My composition attempts to push that idea one step further by stating that when in a state of danger, the worm has the ability to conspire with other worms to better ensure their mission is met when they fight back en masse. Because when the downtrodden are kept down and persecuted, they will fight through the lunacy, the unexpected roadblocks and the possibility of not surviving in order to better their state. After all, what do they have to lose?
