The Concert in the Dark
Composer and pianist, Frank Horvat, returns to Vancouver with his mesmerizing concert in the dark. This special concert has toured over 60 cities in North America and is coming back to Vancouver for a second time. Come and spend an evening with this contemporary composer as he takes you through the light and dark of a composer’s mind. His music has no words but it tells deeply personal stories that he will share. Frank Horvat’s music has been premiered throughout North America, Europe and Australia; played on TV networks like CBC & Bravo and on radio stations internationally; and his four studio albums have received critical acclaim.
Don’t miss the concert in the dark, which includes a performance of his 1-hour solo piano piece, Earth Hour.
Admission is FREE. Voluntary contributions in support of the artist will be greatly appreciated.
Things to know about this Concert:
The first half of the concert is filled with stories from the composer that give meaning to the virtuosic playing and unpredictable meld of musical styles that are his hallmark.
During the second half of the concert, the venue will have little or no light. Those who find the darkness overwhelming are welcome to step out of the hall at any time during the performance.
