	December 4, 2004 Congratulations to all of Frank's students who performed at the Fall Kids & Adult Student Recitals at Humbercrest United Church, Toronto. Frank also performed the 1st movement of Piano Sonata # 32, Opus 111 by L. van Beethoven and some Count Basie.
	November 22-26, 2004 Congratulations to Frank's students, James, Susan, Elia, Dan, Serena, and Cecilia for their performances at Contemporary Showcase, a festival featuring music composed by Canadians, held during Canada Music Week at Eastminster United Church, Toronto. Extra kudos go out to Cecilia for being awarded a scholarship for her performance of works by Oscar Peterson & Alexina Louie.

ORMTA stands for the Ontario Registered Music Teachers' Association. This group organizes auditions where students develop their performance skills and receive helpful adjudication. Students who deliver a particularly fine audition are invited to perform at a Scholarship recital. Elia, Christopher, Tiffany, Dan, Serena, Alice, and Cecilia were invited to the scholarship recital and did super performances!
	September 2004 Announcing the international release of the book, Teach Yourself Visually Piano, published by Wiley and produced by Maran Graphics. Frank acted as a technical consultant on this project. You can get a copy at your favourite book store or online.

	May 16, 2004 Frank was a guest performer at "1 Piano - 12 Hands", a piano recital fundraiser for the 519 Community Centre & The Autism Group. This fundriaser took place at the Heliconian Club, 35 Hazelton Ave, Yorkville, Toronto. The 2 solo piano works that Frank performed were Etude # 3 in B-, Opus 8 by Alexander Scriabin & Hungarian Rhapsody # 4 by Franz Liszt.
	May 1, 2004 Frank presented his Spring Student Recitals (Kids early evening, Adults later the same evening) at Church of the Transfiguration, Toronto. Frank also performed 2 solo piano works; Etude # 3 in B-, Opus 8 by Alexander Scriabin & Hungarian Rhapsody # 4 by Franz Liszt. Thanks to all who attended and congratulations all those talented students of all ages!

	March 7, 2004 Frank performer the 2nd mov't. of Beethoven's Piano Sonata #32, Op. 111, as part of "ORMTA Teachers-In-Concert", Women's Art Association, Toronto, Ontario. Proceeds went towards support of music student scholarships.

If a student delivers a particularly fine audition, they will be invited to perform at a Recital and qualify to win a Scholarship. It was Serena & Bella who recieved Junior & Senior Sir Ernest MacMillan Scholarships respectively for their outstanding performances of a Canadian composition.
	August 7, 14 & 15, 2003 Frank was one of 20 pianists performing on 10 pianos in Toronto/Rome Gala Monster Concerts at Nathan Phillips Square, Toronto City Hall and in Rome. The Rome performances were near the Vatican at the Piazza Risorgimento and in front of the Castel Sant’ Angelo. Click here to see photos from the event.

	Spring, 2003 Frank has article, "The Lowdown of the Octatonic Scale", published in Notes, a magazine for the Ontario Registered Music Teachers' Association, which is distributed to its members across Ontario. The article gives tips and suggestions to music teachers on how to educate their students on this particular scale.

ORMTA stands for the Ontario Registered Music Teachers' Association. This group organizes auditions where students develop their performance skills and receive helpful adjudication. All students mentioned above delivered a particularly fine audition and were therefore invited to perform at a Scholarship recital featuring elite students.
	March 31 - April 17, 2003 Congratulations to Frank's students for their performances at the Davenport Festival of Music in Toronto. All students received marks of 80% or higher including Susan, Vicky, Tuan, Tiffany, & Emily. Special mention goes out to those students who received a 1st, 2nd or 3rd placing in their class including James, Serena, Katrina, Alexander, Cecilia, Osa & Christopher.
	March/April, 2003 Frank has article, "Technology in the studio", published in Music Matters, the official newsletter of RCM Examinations, which is distributed to music teachers all across Canada. The article gives tips and suggestions to music teachers on how to implement technology into their studios.
	March 1, 2003 Frank participates in a Masterclass in Jazz piano performance with Madhav Chari, in Toronto.

	March 24, 2002, 8PM Performance of Piano Piece No. 4, a piano duet by composer Frank Horvat, Church of the Holy Trinity, Toronto, Ontario, as part of "Salon des Refusées". The performance featured Kong Kie Njo and Frank Horvat, piano, along with many other performances.
	March 3, 2002, 2PM Performance of Seriously Sweet, a piece for cello and piano by composer Frank Horvat, Women's Art Association, 23 Prince Arthur Ave., Toronto, Ontario, as part of "ORMTA Teachers-In-Concert". The performance featured Alan Stellings, cello and Frank Horvat, piano, along with many other performances.
	February 3, 2002 Frank conducts a talk to teaching colleagues from the Ontario Registered Music Teachers' Association - Central Toronto Branch on the various types of computer software that aid in musical development.

	October 1, 2001 Frank's composition, The Maturing Suite for Violin & Cello, has been selected to be included in the syllabus for Contemporary Showcase (2001-2005), an annual festival featuring music composed by Canadians, held during Canada Music Week in different centres accross Canada. 	March 5, 2000 Performance of "Images Entre Nous" by composer Phil Nimmons, Lyceum Club, Toronto, Ontario, as part of "ORMTA Teachers-In-Concert". The performance featured Michele Jacot, clarinet and Frank Horvat, piano. Proceeds from the event went to scholarships for music students.
	February 9 - 12, 2000 Frank's students, Alice & Dawn give stirring & courageous performances at the Kiwanis Music Festival both attaining marks above 80%. Congratulations!
	January 30, 2000 Frank along with fellow piano educators, Gladys Odegard, Marlys Neufeldt, Ruth Kazden, & Julia Fong host the first "Adult Music Student Workshop/Discussion" at the home of Gladys Odegard. Topics discussed included technique, dealing with aches & pains, practice scheduling, and performance anxiety.
