Smoking is a terrible addiction that is incredibly difficult to overcome. I have many loved ones who have battled this habit, so I have deep compassion for those trying to quit. However, what really frustrates me are smokers who complain about the strictness of anti-smoking by-laws in public places. Before talking to me about government overreach, consider the story of Heather Crowe—a waitress who passed away in May 2006 after battling lung cancer. Ms. Crowe had endured over 40 years of exposure to second-hand smoke.
