I can’t find the words to describe what it’s like to walk through life with an emptiness in my heart. My mind tells my heart, “Feel something, damn it!”—but my heart remains silent, pulling down the shades and retreating into darkness. My lips fail to articulate the ache; instead, my fingers do, expressing the unspeakable in the language of music.
