Programme Notes

This marks the first collaboration between Regina and me, and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It pushed me into musical territory I don’t typically explore, which made the process exciting and fresh. The demo here serves as a blueprint for an epic vocal line paired with a dynamic orchestration.

I’m really pleased with the song’s structure, which builds progressively throughout, creating a sense of growing intensity. While the theme of a scorned lover is a familiar one in music, it’s a universal experience—one that we all feel at some point, which is why artists continue to explore it. The continuous build in the arrangement allows the character’s pain to be expressed powerfully.

What stands out to me when listening to the demo is the stylistic diversity of the song—it’s hard to pinpoint if it’s R&B, rock, pop, or a blend of all three. I think any recording artist or singer aiming to make a unique impact in the music world, and working with a talented producer, could really make something special out of this song.
