What’s brighter – a Shrub or a Dub?
That’s a very good question that I’m not sure I know the answer to. What I do know is that George W. Bush is likely one of the most damaging world leaders of the past century. What I can’t quite determine, however, is whether he was a shrewd warmonger or simply a gullible, bumbling figurehead.
This electronic composition leans toward exploring the latter perspective. Rather than merely sampling his most notorious speeches, the piece also highlights some of his many moments of hypocrisy.
Though the composition has a quirky, almost comedic tone, I want to make it clear that my stance on Bush is serious: I believe he is a war criminal who should be held accountable for crimes against humanity. In the meantime, all we can do is wait—and dance.

“Lyrics”
America has never been united by blood or birth or soil.
Americans in need are not strangers.
Americans live on the sunrise side of the mountain.
An angel still rides in the whirlwind and directs this storm.
Always see the tunnel at the end of the light.
All had committed grown-up crimes.
And to leave the air and waters clean.
Must remember the lessons of Vietnam.
Our country is ready for high standards.
– George W. Bush
