Ottawa’s SHHH!! Ensemble will perform Part 4 of Frank Horvat’s An Auditory Survey of the Last Days of the Holocene at the Music and Beyond Festival on July 9.
An Auditory Survey of the Last Days of the Holocene is a continuous, multi-movement composition that indexes the sounds of humanity’s destructive past and present. The work calls for over 20 pitched and non-pitched percussion instruments, grand piano, and a fixed sound design track built from more than 150 audio samples and electronic sounds.
