Composer and pianist Frank Horvat returns to Kelowna for the first time since his 60+ city Green Keys Tour — this time as UBC Okanagan’s 2026 Woodhaven Artist in Residence, the centre’s annual invitee.
Over four weeks at Woodhaven Eco Culture Centre, Frank will begin composing the next instalment in his Earth Hour series — a decades-spanning body of solo piano work confronting the climate crisis, the search for a sustainable future, and our shifting relationship with the natural world.
As part of the residency, Frank is giving a free public performance: the original Earth Hour, performed outdoors for the first time — in darkness, with the forest standing in as the concert hall.
