Violinist, Paulina Derbez, premieres Frank Horvat’s ‘In the Area of the Heart‘ in Mexico as part of her concert, Poemas Sonoros, as half of the Dúo Luna.
This new composition is inspired by the HeartMath technique of focussed breathing, specifically through the heart. The voice you’ll hear in this work is Paulina herself reciting HeartMath’s guidance in practicing this method. The goal in composing this piece is to allow the listener to practice the technique as they hear the music. Music can play a role in allowing the conscious mind to be introspective but this piece is moving that premise to a whole other level. Coherence between the heart, breath and sound is profound…enjoy the journey.
