After an incredible 10-year run, it’s time to say goodbye to my piano studio at Lakeshore Arts. This space has been such a meaningful part of my journey, and I’m so grateful to the amazing staff and board for their support and kindness over the years. It’s been a true privilege to make music here with so many wonderful students.
As life leads me in new directions, I’m also looking to find a new home for my piano. It’s a beautiful acoustic instrument with the bonus of being playable with headphones—perfect for anyone who wants the feel of a real piano with a little more flexibility. A perennial favourite among discerning pianists, the Yamaha U1 SILENT Upright Acoustic Piano offers outstanding musical performance, setting the standards by which many other acoustic upright pianos are measured.

MORE ABOUT THE SILENT SYSTEM:
SILENT pianos are genuine acoustic pianos equipped with Yamaha’s advanced silencing technology. When the keys are played in SILENT Mode, the hammers are stopped immediately before striking the strings so that the piano itself generates no sound. Sensors installed below the keys decipher how the keys are played and relay the data to the digital tone generator, which generates sampled sounds that can be heard through a pair of headphones. By allowing players to play a true acoustic piano sound under normal circumstances, or to put on headphones and play in SILENT Mode to avoid disturbing others, SILENT Piano makes any time a good time to sit down at the piano.
In SILENT Mode, you can record performances, export the audio data to utilize on your computer, use the built-in metronome, add effects to the sound like resonance and sustain. There are also two headphone jacks so you can share your performance or enjoy a duet.
In addition to the sampled concert grand piano sound, the unit has various instrument sounds such as harpsichord and pipe organ plus 50 masterpiece piano pieces have been pre-recorded into the system.
